In 2015, John moved his family to Missouri, where he led financial reporting and tax compliance for a mid-sized national civil engineering contractor for nearly four years. He then served as a financial project manager for a national technology and equipment rental corporation, co-founded a community woodworking shop, co-founded a nonprofit foundation, and worked as an investment manager and chief financial officer for a portfolio of businesses spanning real estate, banking, lending, construction, venture capital, aircraft, professional services, and equipment leasing. He later led a multi-year financial transformation while collaborating with cross-functional teams at a national wholesale distributor.
